Encourage/Discourage - which is correct?

Encourage, not discourage! It's a simple slogan that carries a lot of weight. But how many of us really ponder over it. To be encouraged or discouraged by someone is our choice and similarly to encourage or discourage someone is our decision.
Have you ever helped a person get out of an enigmatic situation? If you have then you can really understand what encouragement means.
Have you been around people who seem to attract others? It’s a pleasure being with them and they make you feel easy and comfortable. I call them the encouraging people.
Often in your path towards your goal, you’ll find both kinds (encouraging & discouraging people). It’s your decision to decide what you want out of yourself. There are times when even a single encouraging word can save someone’s life, or can change his/her attitude towards life. But at the same time, a discouraging word can inspire the person to take a challenge and achieve his/her goal.

I think it depends on the person and the purpose for which he’s being encouraged or discouraged. What do you have to say??

ACCEPTANCE – An answer to all questions

I guess most of us are familiar with this word…but are we familiar with it’s meaning….it means that you perceive reality accurately and consciously acknowledge it.

Sounding really simple n obvious… isn’t it? But in practice it is very difficult because we are not ready to accept the reality. What are we afraid of? What is it we can’t accept? Even God will not answer you if you don’t accept what it is you are praying for…Accepting means, to admit, to face the truth, to acknowledge and to actually perceive and accept our present situation.

Accept your tears.

Accept your love.

Accept your happiness.

Accept your problems

Accept your challenges.

Accept your weaknesses.

Accept your strengths.

Acceptance helps in recognizing an existing problem that needs to be solved. It denotes a kind of confidence. We feel afraid of accepting because we believe that it will crush us into pieces…but acceptance says it is alright….you will not vanish completely… you’ll exist in pieces and can still pick them and combine into a stronger whole.

We can’t change the things….though good or bad that may have happened to us in past. But only after we accept our past, we will be able to say that it has no control over our present. Bitter memories haunt us like ghosts….we cannot run away from them…but we can confine them to the past they belong.

To RESIST is to WASTE your precious energy fighting an important battle. Instead one must surrender that battle so that the next battles can be won.

Accept your grief today, and then accept God’s love and healing for you.

PLZZZ………AVOID THE THORNS

LIFE IS NOT A BED OF ROSES – goes according to a famous saying….. so u may think….. Is it a bed full of thorns?? Well, according to me, Life is a bed of Roses, Roses do have thorns (a fact), all u need to do is… avoid the thorns. It is the way we look at things because each day in life has something to teach us and life is a learning process, so there’s no big deal if you get thorns sometimes. A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing. Whatever we may think, plan or rather may even achieve it to the closest end….but life surprises us with an enormous change…a change that was carried over from the past and may affect our present, our future…………

You won’t realize what sweet is until you taste sour. Same is the case with life; you won’t realize how beautiful it is, until you face the challenges and struggle to achieve your goal. If there were no sad moments, the worth of happy moments couldn’t be realized. We must always remember…that “Nothing is Permanent, not even worries” and each phase of life will pass away giving us some unforgettable memories. After every dark night there is a morning filled with lots of light.

That’s what life is…..unpredictable

Life is a Do-It-Yourself Project

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer-of his plans to leave the house building business and live a more leisurely life with his wife enjoying his extended family.

He would miss the paycheck, but he wanted to retire. The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end his career.

When the carpenter finished his work and the builder came to inspect the house, the contractor handed the front-door key to the carpenter. "This is your house," he said, "my gift to you."

What a shock! What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently. Now he had to live in the home he had built none too well.

So it is with us. If we build our lives in a distracted way, reacting rather than acting, willing to put up less than the best. At important points we do not give the job our best effort. Then with a shock we look at the situation we have created and find that we are now living in the house we have built. If we had realized that, we would have done it differently.

Think of yourself as the carpenter. Think about your house. Each day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. Build wisely.

It is the only life you will ever build. Even if you live it for only one day more, that day deserves to be lived graciously and with dignity.

Your attitudes and the choices you make today will be your life tomorrow, build it wisely.

jinn pairon ne mujhe chalna aur sambhalna sikhaya... unhe thakne dena nahi kabhie....
jo beet gaya wo sapna tha....uss khwaab ko hakeekat samajhna nahi kabhie....
aise hi toofaano se ladte jaana....aage badhne se darna nahi kabhie....

Lamhe... College ke lamhe

Nayein raahein, naya safar hai aane ko,
Tyaar hai hum bhi, zindagi ka agla padaav paane ko,
Par naa jaane kyun, aaj dil mein kuch aur aata hai
Samay ki dhaara ko yahin rokne ko mann chahta hai

Char saalon ka safar char palon mein beet gaya
Par lagta hai aaj bhi jaise, kuch peeche reh gaya
Kuch rishtey... kuch yaadein... nayi judd gayi
Wahi yaadein….. jo ab jeene ka sahara bann gayi

Jinn baaton ko lekar rote the, aaj unn par hastein hai
Aaj unn palon ko yaad kar, aankhein namm kiya karte hai
Wo miss calls ki gupshup, wo sms bharmaar
Wo Room calls, aur seniors ka pyar
Wo raat bhar saath jaagkar padhna
Aur bina matlab… kisi se bhi jhagadna
Wo anginat styles of timepass kaise bhuleinge
Wo haseen pal ab dobara kiske saath jiyenge
Wo first tech fair aur last trip ki masti
Chah kar bhi nahi bhulti
Kab hastein gaate ye pal beet gaye………..
Aaj to hum bhi college ke lamho ko yaad karte reh gaye…………

Life gives back everything u give to it!

Some things in life can be best taught through telling and sharing stories. Here i am sharing another story. It goes like this......

"A son and his father were walking on the mountains.
Suddenly, his son falls, hurts himself and screams: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"
To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating, somewhere in the mountain: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"
Curious, he yells: "Who are you?"
He receives the answer: "Who are you?"
And then he screams to the mountain: "I admire you!"
The voice answers: "I admire you!"
Angered at the response, he screams: "Coward!"
He receives the answer: "Coward!"
He looks to his father and asks: "What's going on?"
The father smiles and says: "My son, pay attention."
Again the man screams: "You are a champion!"
The voice answers: "You are a champion!"
The boy is surprised, but does not understand.
Then the father explains: "People call this ECHO, but really this is LIFE.
It gives you back everything you say or do.
Our life is simply a reflection of our actions.
If you want more love in the world, create more love in your heart.
If you want more competence in your team, improve your competence.
This relationship applies to everything, in all aspects of life;
Life will give you back everything you have given to it."

YOUR LIFE IS NOT A COINCIDENCE. IT'S A REFLECTION OF YOU!"

Aloneness: THE Positive loneliness

WE ALL find ourselves alone in the world at some point of time and believe that we are so. We all have felt terribly lonely, at some point, in our lives when, amidst a room full of people, we felt as if we were total strangers. We had no one with whom we could share our thoughts or express our feelings. I think it happens to everybody, even those with a busy social life and a lot of friends. We feel lonely within and, at the same time, we are socially related and surrounded by others, whether we like it or not.

There are times when we isolate ourselves from the crowd to experience a sense of separation from others and this sense of being separated shapes and enhances our personality and our identity. At that moment, you try to think about yourself. You talk to divinity within you (your conscience) which helps you to rediscover yourself. Moreover, at that time you recall all the positive things that had occurred to you, you encourage yourself by all means you have known. In this way it can help develop a multitude of talents. The only thing required is the space and time to develop them. A lot of good paintings, writing, art, and poetry were born out of this positive loneliness called solitude.

"Loneliness is when you think of others, miss them; it is a negative state. Aloneness is the presence of oneself, it is very positive, you can fill the universe with your presence and there is no need for anybody”

One shouldn't try to push darkness out of a dark room so as to bring in light. That is impossible because darkness doesn't really exist. Rather, it's simply the absence of light. So, turn on the light in that room to make darkness disappear.Loneliness is simply darkness that has enveloped us and this can't be dealt with directly because it doesn't really exist; it's simply the absence of light at that time in our life.

STRUGGLE IS A PART OF LIFE!!!

We are always struggling....

Whether we struggle against struggle or resign ourselves to struggle, we are in struggle.

A brief story related to struggle that everyone of us would have heard.....

A man found a cocoon of an emperor moth. He took it home so that he could watch the moth come out of the cocoon. On the day a small opening appeared, he sat and watched the moth for several hours as the moth struggled to force the body through that little hole.

The moth seemed to be stuck and appeared to have stopped making progress. It seemed as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no farther. The man, in his kindness, decided to help the moth; so he took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The moth then emerged easily. But its body was swollen and small, its wings wrinkled and shriveled.

The man continued to watch the moth because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to and able to support the body, which would contract in time. Neither happened! In fact, the little moth spent the rest of its life crawling around with a small, swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.

The man in his kindness and haste did not understand that the struggle required for the moth to get through the tiny opening was necessary to force fluid from the body of the moth into its wings so that it would be ready for flight upon achieving its freedom from the cocoon. Freedom and flight would only come after the struggle. By depriving the moth of a struggle, he deprived the moth of health.

Whatever we achieve in life is through struggle. Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If we were to go through our life without any obstacles, we would be crippled. We would not be as strong as what we could have been. Give every opportunity a chance, leave no room for regrets, and don't forget the power in the struggle.

Thank struggle for being a teacher.....

WHY DOES IT HAPPEN???

IF YOU ARE MY FRIEND PLEASE ANSWER THIS...
when you don't want to be used,, but you are often...
when you want people to understand you,, they don't...
when you want to be considered as being like others,,you aren't...
when what you think is not allowed to be spoken...
when you have to hide your true self from others...
when you think to help others, bt they think it's sympathy..
when you want an encouraging word,, you don't recieve it..
when you think you are right,, but cannot prove...
when those you respect cannot be told...
when those you love cannot be shown....
when the people you care about don't care for u...
when you cannot find solace anywhere...
when you feel you are being cheated...
when you have no philosophies to develop...
when you cannot be the way you wanted to be...
when you cannot be truly you..
when you cannot achieve what you wanted...
when it seems time is just passing,, and you cannot hold it..
when the memories of your childhood flash you by and make you enjoy....
when the feeling of loneliness grab you..
when you do a mistake you never wanted to...
when you have no time to rethink or give up...

when life seems to be at it's end,, it's just the beginning my friend.....

MISS U FRIEND ! ! !

When I have time to spare,
And no one to share...........
I MISS YOU FRIEND!!!

When I want to cry & hold,
but nobody can be told......
I MISS YOU FRIEND!!!

When I want to fight,
Or have a sleepless night....
I MISS YOU FRIEND!!!

When I want Maggie at two,
Or to tease you.............
I MISS YOU FRIEND!!!

When I want to be called by stupid names,
Or play our favourite game................
I MISS YOU FRIEND!!!

When I want to have sambhar dosa,
And you with your chai samosa........
I MISS YOU FRIEND!!!

When I want to narrate my dream,
And you aren't there to scream......
I MISS YOU FRIEND!!!

When I want to go on a walk,
And You aren't there to talk......
I MISS YOU FRIEND!!!

My Favourite Poem....

A success poem that encourages you to keep on going....

DON'T QUIT
by Edgar A. Guest

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
when the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
when the funds are low and the debts are high,
and you want to smile but you have to sigh,
when care is pressing you down a bit - rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns.
As everyone of us sometimes learns.
And many a fellow turns about when he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow
- you may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than
it seems to a faint and faltering man;
often the struggler has given up
when he might have captured the victor's cup;
and he learned too late when the night came down,
how close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out
- the silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
and when you never can tell how close you are,
it may be near when it seems afar;
so stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
- it's when things seem worst, you must not quit.

utkarsh

well this is my first post and i want to share with you the feeling of happiness i went through last night.. though it was for the second time i laughed.. that my stomach started aching..

yesterday was a small competion in our hostel (singing and dancing) one of my friends was to perform in that......................

though she performed a solo song well... a sudden inspiration came to her for performing a deut n that too a song from rock on (zehreele-2 kaale neele peele....................) n mind you that she was awesome... with such a head banging n all full of energy that even without instruments we felt we were actually listening to rock on... the audience felt too excited n everybody was so thrilled by thier performance that we couldn't control our laugh........................... :) :) :) :)

so it was the second time,,,, the first time was when we were preparing for our campus placements n we were trying to form some patterns for logical reasoning questions. For learning we formed the story using the titles of our batchees... n a lovely story was formed that we couldn't control our laugh after going through it again............................ :) :) :)
